30 Day Writing Challenge – Day 7
I wanted to post early because I have a memorial service to attend this afternoon. It’s also Free Comic Book Day, which is always a lot of fun, but I’m just not feeling it right now. If you’re going to your local comic shop today, have a fantastic time and post lots of pics.
Today’s topic is What Tattoos You Have and If They Have Meaning. I have two – a dragon “tramp stamp” and a triquetra on my inner left wrist. The dragon doesn’t have any special meaning. I like dragons and I thought the lower back would be a good place for it. That dragon is now over 10 years old and could use a touch up. Maybe later. It hurts a bit and will be expensive, I’m sure. I got the triquetra on my left wrist because I had carpal tunnel really bad in that wrist and the docs were insistent on surgery, which statistically doesn’t work very well. The triquetra is a Celtic symbol of protection. So I got it and told the docs, sorry, no surgery for me. After doing research, I came across articles about how gluten and dairy cause inflammation in some people, which aggravates things like carpal tunnel. I adjusted my diet and within DAYS I noticed significant relief. As long as I’m cognizant of keeping dairy and gluten-y foods to a minimum, I don’t have all that pain and discomfort. When I get too much of either (or both – damn you, pizza!), the carpal tunnel comes back with a vengeance.
Okay, time to tackle this day. Try your best to make it a good one, no matter the circumstances.
